BMW Intelligent Personal Assistant can tell you anything you need to know about your car. This service offers you support from the latest generation of automobile experts. Therefore, you can find out more information about your car functions. Besides, your assistant knows everything about your car’s status and the need for a visit to the workshop.

This function understands your needs and offers optimal support at all times – it’s the perfect assistant for you and your business. You just have to say “Hey, BMW. Drive to the office!” and it will find the correct route to take you there within the shortest time possible, or “Hey, BMW. I’m hungry!” and it will offer you a restaurant recommendation, even one with very good reviews, if you like. Plus, you can work while you’re on the move: it reads your e-mails or helps you access your phone contacts and manage your calls. WHERE IS ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE HEADING TO?

There are a lot of examples of artificial intelligence developments that are both terrifying and exciting. A lot of areas that involve AI continue to grow steadily, but there are also others that arrive suddenly and may surprise us; for example, the arrival of Minority Report-style advertising and the evolution of sophisticated computer vision. Let’s briefly discuss them here.


Whether you like it or loathe it, advanced computer vision means that AI-driven personalised advertising is becoming part of the retail experience. At the beginning of January Microsoft announced a partnership with US supermarket chain Kroger to create the ultimate “connected store experience” with two pilot stores, one opening in Microsoft’s hometown of Redmond and the other in Monroe, Ohio (near Kroger headquarters).

Shelves in these two supermarkets will ditch paper price tags in favour of real-time digital versions that also display promotions and nutritional information while working with Kroger’s app to guide you through the store based on your shopping list.

The Minority Report part of this innovation involves cameras with facial recognition: when passing in-store digital displays you will be shown ads and promotions based on your age and gender or, should you opt in, you will be greeted personally and have products suggested based on previous purchases. “Good morning, Marie. Would like to purchase more Ben & Jerry’s and white wine?” It must have forgotten about that time I bought a grapefruit. Or a salad.
